Mas des Opiès is a traditionally designed Provençal Mas, rebuilt in 2008 to provide a beautiful, contemporary layout and finishes. Sitting in mature and secure landscaped grounds at the edge of 'un parc naturel régional', the house has outstanding views of the Alpilles Mountains and yet is just 15 minutes walk from one of the most beautiful villages in Provence.
The property
The house is arranged on two principal levels under a pitched tiled roof and air conditioned (supplemental charge). A large airy entrance hall leads to the first floor and open arched doorways to magnificent kitchen/dining area with pitched ceiling, beams and double doors opening to a covered outside terrace. There is a fully equipped kitchen comprising double oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dining table for 10.
A separate utility area provides sink, washing machine and drier.
There are three principal reception areas consisting of study/library, sitting room with open log fire and games room with TV, music system and table tennis.
There is wireless broadband, internet phone and freesat TV for both UK and French stations providing both BBC and CNN news channels.
There are 4 bedrooms (1-king-sized, 1 queen-sized and two twin-bedded rooms) and 4 bathrooms. The games room has a double sofabed. A separate studio apartment by the pool provides twin beds, shower, WC and sitting area. The house comfortably sleeps 10.
The grounds
The house is set in mature landscaped grounds of 2.5 acres with views of the Alpilles to the south and approached through double gates and drive leading to parking area to the rear.
There is a covered terrace and lawned area in front of the house leading to swimming pool, adjacent boulodrome and tennis court. The remainder of the grounds consist of parkland with mature Cyprus trees, mulberry and pomegranate together with a mediterranean rockery, dry garden and orchard of olive and fruit trees.
